A comprehensive mechanical installation for our client, CBRE, supporting the development of a high performance laboratory and commercial facility in Cambridge. The project required the seamless integration of multiple specialist mechanical systems, designed to provide reliable environmental control, operational resilience, and full compliance with the demanding requirements of modern laboratory spaces. Our scope of works included: Installation of CRAC (Computer Room Air Conditioning) units to provide precise environmental control for specialist laboratory areas. VRF air conditioning systems delivering efficient, flexible climate control across multiple zones. Mechanical ventilation systems incorporating heat recovery technology to maximise energy efficiency and indoor air quality. Compressed air installations to support laboratory processes and specialist equipment. Leak detection systems to safeguard critical infrastructure and sensitive operational areas. Full domestic hot and cold-water services installation. Trace heating systems to maintain water temperatures and provide frost protection. Installation of fire dampers to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations. Crosstalk attenuation measures to enhance acoustic performance and minimise noise transfer throughout the building. This project demonstrates our expertise in delivering complex mechanical services for laboratory environments, where precision, reliability and technical excellence are essential. Through detailed planning, close collaboration, and high quality installation, we delivered a solution that meets the exacting standards required within scientific and research facilities.
